BTC Toolsby Satoshi Institute

Editorial policy

  • Published

BTC Tools seeks to provide transparent, reproducible, evidence-based Bitcoin analysis. This page explains how our content is produced and what readers should and should not rely on it for.

What we aim for

  • Transparent: assumptions, formulas and data sources are published alongside each tool.
  • Reproducible: tool settings are shareable so others can check a result.
  • Evidence-based: claims are tied to cited sources, labelled by type.

Not individualised financial advice

Calculator and model results are general, educational illustrations based on the inputs entered and the stated assumptions. They are not individualised financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and they do not take your personal circumstances into account. See the educational disclaimer.

Our perspective

BTC Tools is published by Satoshi Institute, an organization that works on Bitcoin treasury governance and research. Our work focuses on Bitcoin, and readers should weigh it with that perspective in mind. We try to present limitations and counter-arguments alongside results, and we welcome corrections.

Sourcing

We prefer primary sources — protocol documents, company filings, regulators and original datasets — and label each citation as a primary source, government/regulatory source, company filing, market data, academic research or secondary research. Data providers are listed in the data source directory.

Authorship, dates and updates

Substantial articles and research pages show the author, publisher, published date and last updated date. Pages that rely on market data show the date the data is current through, and analytical pages show the methodology version they follow.

Corrections

If you find an error, contact legal@satoshiinstitute.com. Material corrections are made promptly and reflected in the page's last updated date.
