About BTC Tools
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Bitcoin decisions, backed by data. BTC Tools is a Bitcoin analytics, calculator, research, and decision-support platform published by Satoshi Institute.
What BTC Tools is
BTC Tools combines calculators, historical data, valuation models, treasury analysis, and risk tools to help individuals, executives, and boards make better Bitcoin decisions. It covers personal holding decisions (DCA, cycle position, retirement), corporate treasury questions (allocation, mNAV, drawdown survival, company comparison), and long-horizon security risk such as quantum exposure.
Who Satoshi Institute is
Satoshi Institute is an independent Bitcoin treasury governance and research organization. It studies how individuals and institutions hold, govern, and report Bitcoin, and publishes BTC Tools as the practical, data-driven companion to that research.
Why the site exists
Most Bitcoin decisions are made on headlines or single-number price targets. BTC Tools exists to replace those with transparent models, honest ranges, and historical context, so people can see the trade-offs before they act.
Who it is for
- Individual holders with meaningful Bitcoin exposure planning purchases, holding, or retirement.
- CFOs, treasurers, and finance teams evaluating Bitcoin on the balance sheet.
- Board members and governance committees reviewing treasury policy and risk.
- Security and technology leaders assessing custody and quantum-migration readiness.
Editorial independence
BTC Tools does not accept payment to feature companies, products, or exchanges, and no model is tuned to favour a particular outcome. Content is educational and is not investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice.
Methodology philosophy
Every tool states its assumptions, data sources, and limitations. Where uncertainty is material we show ranges, not single targets, and we keep the simple point estimate available so users can compare. Modelling choices that are judgement calls are labelled as such.
How tools and data are developed
Tools are built from public market data (daily and monthly price history, company filings, and on-chain holdings) with caching and fallbacks so results stay reproducible. Models are reviewed against historical data, exported charts carry provenance (source URL and UTC timestamp), and methodology notes are published alongside each tool.
Relationship between BTC Tools and Satoshi Institute
