This Privacy Policy describes how Satoshi Institute Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use BTC Tools (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to operate and improve the Service:

Email addresses — when you subscribe to alerts or updates, we store the address you provide.
Consent proof — at signup we record the timestamp of your consent, the page or tool you signed up from, your IP address, and your browser user-agent. This is retained solely as evidence of consent under GDPR and equivalent laws. It is never used for marketing, profiling, or tracking.
Analytics data — aggregate, mostly de-identified usage data such as pages viewed, referrer, approximate region, device type, and browser. This may include cookies or similar technologies.
Calculator inputs — values you type into tools generally stay in your browser; we do not store them on our servers unless explicitly stated.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

2. How We Use Information

To deliver and maintain the Service.
To send alerts, transactional messages, and product updates you have requested.
To measure and improve performance, content, and reliability.
To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
To retain proof that a valid consent was given, in case we are ever asked to demonstrate it.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following processors to run the Service:

Supabase — database, authentication, and email subscription storage.
Analytics providers — privacy-respecting analytics for aggregate traffic measurement.
Hosting and CDN providers — to serve the site globally.

Each processor handles your data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies

We may use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to remember preferences (for example, to remember you have dismissed our cookie notice). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

5. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Request data portability.
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (California residents).

Unsubscribe vs. Delete My Data

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. That link takes you to a page with two distinct options:

Unsubscribe — stops all further emails immediately. We keep a minimal record of your subscription (email, timestamps, and consent proof) so that we can honour your opt-out and, if required, demonstrate that a valid consent was previously given.
Delete my data — permanently erases your subscription record and all associated metadata (email address, consent timestamp, IP, user-agent, source). This satisfies the GDPR Article 17 right to erasure and equivalent CCPA/CPRA deletion rights. It is irreversible and requires a confirmation step. After deletion, nothing about your subscription remains in our systems.

You can also exercise any of these rights — including access, correction, portability, or deletion — by emailing privacy@satoshiinstitute.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law. Subscription emails and their associated consent proof are retained until you unsubscribe or request full deletion via the "Delete my data" option in the unsubscribe flow.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
